In Alabama, take exit # 70 off I-85. Go W on CR 388 1.3 mi. to CR 83. Turn N and go 6.5 mi. to CR 174
(gravel), and turn L. Go 1.7 mi. to the gravel CR 078 (sic) and turn R. It goes west initially, turning NW
after 0.8 mi. At 2.3 mi. there is a slick-rock area on the left. Park here.
A half mile walk W-SW along the high ground will take you over the three hps. At the first, a nice cairn
marks a recovered BM "Buckelew 1930". Other cairns are seen in the vicinities of points 2 and 3.
This is a fine Appalachian-Piedmont cohp, easy walking in oak woods. Fans of old forts and of railroad
history will find the old village of Cusseta interesting. Note the historical marker there.
