Dale County High Point Trip Report

The county highpoint is located approximately two miles southwest of Ariton, AL on H51. Just prior to
CR11 is a crest on H51 which is part of a large area shown on the topo map as the 550 foot contour
section. The highest point appeared to be the residence off to the right. I drove up the driveway but was
unable to make contact with the owners. The contour section extends into a farm area to the southwest
and would have liked to have explored this direction but could not do so without permission. The left side
of the road is in the contour area also but, as I recall, appears to be down-sloping.
