Mobile County High Point Trip Report

Topo map needed (DeLorme page 55). From Citronelle proceed west on State St. (CR96) to where road
bears left in a southwesterly direction. Less than a mile further, a road to New Hope Church leads off this
road in a westerly direction. Just prior to this turnoff is an obscured, gated dirt road leading to the north.
Jump the gate and walk about 50 yards before turning left and
climbing up a very distinct mound to the left.
Topo map indicates the Oil City Speedway nearby. In attempting to locate the highpoint, asked for
information at a local convenience store. "Where's the speedway?" "You're standing on it ... it's long
since gone."
