Photographs from an ascent of San Jacinto Peak by Don Nelsen via
         the Lykken Trail on August 4, 2003. This route entails over ten thousand feet of
         elevation gain as it proceeds from desert to subalpine forest.

Far less rigorous means exist to climb this mountain - including several
         excellent trails on the western slopes (with about 4,000 feet of gain);
         and an aerial tramway (with about 2,400 feet of gain).
