Flattop Mountain (12,354 ft)

Date: June 14-15, 1996
Author: David Olson

After we arrived at the approach, after dark, we spread ground-cloths out on the ground and laid our sleeping bags out on top of them. In the morning we started up the trail from Stillwater reservoir, at 10,200 ft. Most of the distance up to the pass at timberline was covered in snow. We were glad to follow a fishing party. Two-thirds of the way up it started to rain, or drizzle, lightly, and it up to the top of Flattop Mt. and all the way back to the bottom. I did not glissade down.
