Park County High Point Trip Report

Mount Lincoln (14,286 ft)

Date: November 16, 1999
Author: Walt O'Neil

The weather has been so great in Colorado, we took a day off and climbed Mt. Lincoln - unheard of for November. The weather and views were great and many county HP's could be seen from the summit. We parked just before the stream crossing before Kite Lake at 11,860' and hiked up to the saddle at 13,400'. We decided that since my main goal was Mt. Lincoln, we would forego Mt. Democrat and do it on the way back or waive it for this trip. We proceeded up the ridge to Mt. Cameron and then to Mt. Lincoln. We met two others up there and no one else the whole day. We then hiked to Mt. Bross, another 14'er, and returned to the parking area before dark.
