It is funny that having grown up in Colorado Springs and for the many weekends I spent on Pikes Peak
hiking, backpacking, and camping that I never have been to the top of the Devil's Playground. Once I
reached the top with my daughter, I laughed heartily at the fact that I passed within hundreds of yards of the
Devil's Playground when hiking the route from the Crags to the top and then down the Barr Trail. It is
funny how your perception changes when your goals are so different. We then finished driving to the top of
Pikes Peak. From there we drove like madmen and we were not out of place on I-25 to get to DIA for our
flight to Nebraska.
