Yuma County High Point Trip Report

Date: November 23, 1996

I got a late start. I drove out on I-70, stopped in Byers to pick up snacks and then continued east on US 36. I visited the Washington county CO HP, then returned to U.S. 36 and continued east to Cope. I stopped to look under the bridge. The Arikaree River was dry, its bed sandy and 30 feet wide.

Just past Cope I turned south on gravel roads to find the Yuma county CO HP, 4440+ feet. The HP resembled Washington county's HP. The highest ground was in the absolute corner of the county and sloped away from the manmade elevation of the road.
