Take CT 20 to West Hartland. Turn W onto West Rd, and bear left onto Old Forge Rd after about 3/4 mi. Follow Old Forge Rd to an intersection with Mill Street. Turn right over a bridge and follow Mill Street (name might be different) north, past Hartland Pond, till you reach a gate. Park in the parking lot on the right. Walk N past the gate, following a good woods road for ~1/3 mi. You'll reach an intersection where the good right bears left. Follow the good road for 1/4 mile W to the top of a rise where you'll find a smaller woods road bearing right, uphill. Follow this road through partially overgrown fields until you've reached its highest point. The high point is close by in the woods on the right. Note: roads in this area are under repair so you might meet some detours.
