Hartford County Highpoint Trip Report
unnamed point 3/4 mile north of Hartland Pond (1,398+ ft)
Date: October 2000
Author: Mike Schwartz
Hanson/Surgent trip reports do the job, with one addition. As you follow the woods road through partially
overgrown fields, you reach what feels like high ground. At this point, I bushwhacked into the woods,
only to come back out on the woods road, which curves to the right, and then ascends some more to the
real summit. So, when you reach the first "high ground," continue ahead on the woods road, which makes
an "S" curve, and ascends a bit more to the highest ground. From there, bushwhack about 100 yards east
into the woods to the high point.
