Nassau County High Point Trip Report

Date: February 18, 2001
Author: Fred Lobdell

We only reconnoitered this one. The three high areas all seem to lie on a fairly obvious ridge that rises above the surrounding terrain. However, the entire area is doubly fenced, the outer fence being a barbed- wire fence in a good state of repair, and the inner fence being an electric fence. There is a gate to the area on the north side but no one was there on a Sunday afternoon. There was no sign to tell us the name of the company or what sort of operation was being conducted behind the fences. It appears that permission will be required in order to claim this one.
