Colquitt County High Point Trip Report

Date: February 17, 2001
Author: Fred Lobdell

The Colquitt County high point lies in a farm field near the northwest corner of the county, about a mile northwest of the center of the village of Doerun.

From the intersection of GA routes 133 and 270 on the east side of Doerun, take 133 northbound (actually west here) and follow it for 1.3 miles as it curves around to the north. Just before crossing the railroad tracks turn right (east) into a secondary road and park on the shoulder.

The high area is the low but obvious ridge in the farm field to the right (south). It appears to be higher near the state highway, and indeed the land west of 133 appears about equally high. Walk all the high areas and return to your car.
