Lowndes County High Point Trip Report

The unnamed high point of Lowndes County lies in an open field about 10 miles northeast of the center of
Valdosta, and about 2 miles southwest of Moody Air Force Base.
From the intersection of US 41 and GA 125 (actually, this is the southern terminus of GA 125) on the
northeast side of Valdosta, go north on 125 between 7.5 and 8 miles to where there is a mobile home sales
office on the left. If you reach the south entrance to Moody AFB you have gone too far and will need to
backtrack about 1.3 miles. We were able to park near the back of the trailer sales lot and walk out into the
field behind it. The high area appeared to be along a fence line between fields several hundred yards west.
