two areas in section 18-82N-32W

From the intersection of Routes 141 and 25 just east of Bayard, drive north on Route 25 for 4 miles to 310th Street. Turn left and go west 3 miles to B Avenue. Turn right and go north on B Avenue 0.7 mile, passing the Lutheran Church. The house is gone, but there is still a green gate to the west and 2 bins to the east (#2137). Park here and hike west, through the yard and up into the cornfield to the highest contour. A second, tiny spot is northwest on this ridge, beyond the fence/tree line.

three areas in sections 9/16-83N-32W

From the previous parking spot, continue north to 300th Street and turn left. Go west 1 mile to Route N-58. Turn right and drive north 5 miles to Route E-53. Turn right and drive east for 3 miles to D Avenue. Turn left and go north about 0.75 mile. Watch for an orange pipe on the left side of the road. The first area is just west of this pipe in the cornfield. Continue north to the house and farm on your left (#1506). The McDonald’s weren’t home, but a workman there thought it would be ok to wander the corn and bean fields to the west and north. Turn at the corner and go west on 240th Street to a pull-off on the south, just beyond the McDonald’s yard. This large contour has high spots in the cornfield on the south side of the road and west of the house, as well as in the corn/bean field to the north (the fence is falling down here, so you can get into the field). Drive farther west on 240th and park in one of two field access niches on the north side of the road (the second one is on the half section line).

From either place, hike north to the third area out in the bean field. Lucky for me, the walk was fairly dry (not wet or muddy).
