Caribou County Highpoint Trip Report

Meade Peak (9,957 ft)

Date: July 11, 2006
Author: John Vitz

I used the COHP write-up to get to the water troughs. After that the road was really overgrown. I managed to get 1400 miles on my new Tacoma before scratching it up. I hiked to the end of the road and then followed the now- traditional 610 paces up the old ATV track. From here I went steeply uphill (one stretch I gained 1000 feet in 0.28 mile) to the ridge and then on to the summit.

I met the others in my party at a campsite along Eightmile Creek south of Soda Springs.
