Jackson County High Point Trip Report

From the quaint hill community of Alto Pass on IL 127, head west on Bald Knob Road. After about 1.5 miles
there is a "Y" in the road, the south fork leads to Bald Knob (Union County HP) but for Jackson County
take the northwest fork. The road continues northwest past the county line. The HP is at a house to the
right (east) with the sign "83 Longshadow". It is before you run into Macedonia Rd on the left (west).
As I pulled up to the house, a man came out to walk his dog. We chatted a bit, I gave him a copy of the
Illinois list. I think he said his name was Daniel. He was friendly and seemed a bit perplexed by the whole
cohp thing, but let me look around. The HP is a small rise on the gravel driveway - a gimme.
