Williamson County High Point Trip Report

I tried unsuccessfully to bag this one in the dark the previous evening - so I returned early in the morning after camping at Giant City State Park. From Giant City SP, take Giant City Road northeast for about 5 miles until it reaches Grassy Road on the northern edge of Little Grassy Lake. Grassy Road winds through some nice scenery. Continue about 7 miles, make a right(south) at South Wolf Creek Road. Pass a group of houses known as Lake Tacoma, then the road gets hilly and rises to an obvious high ridge with a blacktop driveway to the right (west). This is the dirt road on the topo which leads to the high areas. The road dead ends at what looks like some kind of dog breeding grounds to the south, a couple of maintenance buildings, and a huge mansion with big white columns out front. I passed through the circle driveway and parked back at the driveway.

Amidst racket coming from the dogs, I waltzed out to the two HPs. Both are in a mowed grass yard behind the mansion on to the north, the other, smaller one to the west. Didn't do any major hand-leveling, but the northern one looked a bit higher. I hope I (well, the dogs) didn't wake up the homeowners.
