La Porte County Highpoint Trip Report

From US 20, just west of its crossing the Indiana Turnpike, go north at the traffic light on Fail Road.
At Lambs chapel (1.0 miles), turn right (east) onto Road 600N and continue to crest at 1.3 miles.
Bushwhack due north to the east summit, in woods near several very large beeches. I could not find BM
Galena or any witness posts, but felt confident about being in the right place due to terrain and proximity
to the edge of the woods. From here, bushwhack west along the ridgeline through the area shown as
unforested on the topo, but which is now thinly forested with young oaks. The ridge rises again to a
clearly defined knob, the west summit. From there, the utility lines on 600N Road are visible to the south.
Hike south across the fields to the road, and walk east to the car.
