Marshall County High Point Trip Report

From the intersection of US 31 and Indiana 110, go west on route 110 (the county line) for about 2.5 miles to the intersection with Maple. There is a BM (895') on the west side of Maple and to the east is a large area out in the corn field (area 1). The highest spot appears to be on the northern "tail" of the contour shown on the topo map.

For areas 2 and 3, proceed north on Maple for about 0.4 mile to a barn on the west side of the road. Park on the edge of the field to the east, and hike east along the northern edge of a field for about 0.25 mile. Out in the field to the south is area 2, which is partially wooded. Area 3 is along the northern edge of this field and skirts the edge of an old sand pit. Area 3 appears to be higher than area 2, but I only checked it with my hand level. Walk all three areas to be sure you've visited this county highpoint.

The corn was about 1 inch high when I visited the area. Plan to visit either before crops are planted or after they are harvested. Otherwise you will have difficulty in finding the high spots in areas 1 and 2.
