Monroe County High Point Trip Report

Date: March 10, 2001
Author: Ken Oeser

Monroe county has two highpoints.

The west area is at a gravel road/drive off of Highway 1520 just south of Persimmon and just south of a water tower. The highpoint is right next to the drive at the highway.

The eastern area is reached by driving south about 0.5 mile and turning left onto a road. Follow this road (which will turn to gravel) about 1 - 1.5 miles; after a left turn uphill on gravel, the road turns right at an abandoned house. Park here, follow the farm road north, and hike northeast into the pasture with the highpoint. The land is not posted, and a neighbor who knows the owner says he is sure the owner wouldn't mind.
