From the junction of KY49/337, drive southeast 6.3 miles and turn right onto P. Valley Road. Go 1.1 miles and turn left onto Burchell Road, go 150 feet, and turn right onto Malone Road. Drive 0.3 mile and ask permission at the tan double-wide. Best parking is near the barn another 0.3 mile down the road on the right. This is about 0.85 mile from the cohp.

Cross the gate and climb the grassy ridge headed south and pick up an ATV trail south along the west side of the ridge. This is a good ATV trail, with a few blackberries, but at least 20-30 ticks each for the three of us hikers and Braxton got his first two ticks. The dog picked up 15-20 also. Follow the ATV trail south for 0.5 mile to a small grassy field used for deer hunting then climb steeply 100 vertical feet up the trail. At the top, go right/south 0.1 mile to the main ridge, then turn right and soon left on trails to the summit area. We followed the track around the summit hoping to avoid the blackberry patch and found a little better path coming in from the east side. From the middle of the blackberries, we went north a few feet into the woods which seemed slightly higher.

On the way down we flushed a Sharp-Shinned Hawk.
