Jefferson Parish Highpoint Trip Report

Andy martin's book lists "about 5 areas inside the levee", plus another area
inside the levee plus 2 small manmade areas on the levee as the contenders for
Jefferson Parish. In looking at Topozone a few months back,
I could only find three, which I visited today.
Area 1 is at Ninemile point, just south of the Carrolltron Bend of the
Mississippi River and is accessible by parking on the side of River Road,
crossing the levee, and walking around a fenced in but open dock area and the
unfenced areas around it.
Area 2 is reached by heading south on River road. Just past Klein Street on the right,
pull off the road and hop over the levee on the right. Go into a fenced
and abandoned looking dock area to reach the CoHP area.
Area 3 is reached by continuing east on River road about 1/2 mile to a slight
bend in the road. Hop over the levee and find the CoHP in some posted trashy woods.
