Sabine Parish Highpoint Trip Report
one small area in the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Many quadrangle (490+ ft)

Go to the corner of LA 6 and Middle Creek Road across from the water tower North
of the town of Many, LA and zero odometer.
0.0 Middle Creek Road at LA 6 - go east on Middle Creek Road
1.3 Cross under the first of three sets of transmission power lines - stay on
the main road at all side streets - the road eventually turns to dirt but
continues okay for all vehicles.
3.0 Fisher Firetower Road on the right - go straight
3.1 Hickory Wood Road - turn left (north)
3.4 Small pullout - park - if you get to a large clearing, you've gone too far,
go back 2/3 tenths of a mile.
Hiking: Wander up the ridge to the left (west) just a short distance through
pines and underbrush. Long pants recommended.
On the way back, at Middle Creek Road, you can continue straight ahead to reach
the Fisher Firetower Lookout and at BM 470+ feet in 0.6 mile, if you're so inclined.
There's lots of other towers up there. Rather pretty country but being encroached on by houses.
