This hp is in an area of dirt removal operations but at least a portion of the natural area remains.
One approach is from I10 exit 194, south on LA641, crossing the river to LA18, then east a half mile to a gravel
road on the left that heads northeast and crosses the levee. Watch out for large trucks and earth moving equipment.
Take a right beyond the levee and drive southeast a couple of hundred yards to see the remains
of the hp area in trees and brush just off the road to the left. It's just a short walk to explore that area.
