Webster Parish High Point Trip Report

Reaching this highpoint from Minden was pretty confusing since Louisiana sometimes doesn't show highway numbers along their highways. From the intersection of Highway 79 and 159 in Minden drive north on Highway 159 for 0.3 mile to the intersection with the East West Road, turn east on this road and continue about 3 blocks where the Germantown Road forks to the northeast. Follow the Germantown Road for 6.2 miles to the north and east. A gravel road intersects Germantown road from the north at a crest on the Germantown Road. Follow this road to the north for 0.4 mile to a crest. The highpoint is located just of the road to the east in heavy briars (as previously written).

I have noticed in rural areas hunters tend to leave deer carcasses along the roads after they have been cleaned, and this forest road was no exception. I saw three rotting deer carcasses near the Webster Parish highpoint which made for a very unpleasant olfactory experience.
