New Tennessee Highpoint (Bedford County) ? From: Denny Dean Date: Sun, 27 Mar 2022 20:59:06 MST Using the National Map Andy recently shared I believe I have located the new Highpoint for Bedford, County, Tennessee It looks like there is a fourth area on the same ridge that the three listed highpoints are on The fourth (new highpoint) is south of the other three and although one contour lower on the topo map, Lidar shows to be 4 feet higher than the next closest candidate. My data is as follows: In order from north to south: 1 - 35.65996/86.30605 - 1,288' (the summit of this point is higher but it appears that the county line runs south of the highest point, regardless the highest point is only 1,298') 2 - 35.65402/86.30164 - 1,321' 3- 35.6534/86.3019 - 1,316' 4 (new unreported Hpt.) - 35.65129/86.30592 - 1,325' The Lidar contours appear to agree with the spot elevation using the identifier tool. Looks like access for new area 4 would be the same farm as points 2-3 for which Ken Oeser did a trip report for 22 years ago. Presumably one would still cross points 2-3 on the way to the new area. I'll try to give this one a go after turkey season is over as this looks to be a prime hunting spot. Denis Dean
