Nantucket County Highpoint Trip Report

This was referred to as "the day I spent a lot of money". By the same token,
as a friend of mine used to say, "Any problem than can be cured by throwing money
at it can't be that big of a problem."
Booked reservations on the ferries to both islands in the same day. This has
the advantage of allowing you to get both island counties in the same day.
The disadvantage is that the final ferry gets back into Hyannis at 10 PM.
The ferry has free wireless, which made it easy to catch up on my emails
throughout the trip. Parking in Hyannis was $17.
Once on Nantucket, I made a tactical error. I should have gotten a bike to do
this point. It can be easily done in the time allotted (i.e. between ferries).
Instead, I took a taxi driven by a Bulgarian driver who was amused by my quest.
The published fare is $25 each way and they don't seem to take plastic.
I concur that the highest ground was behind the fence protecting the lighthouse
during renovation. If you think about the problem for a minute, you should be
able to figure out how to get the point.
My Bulgarian driver took me back to the wharf for the ferry.
I had plenty of time.
