Allegany County High Point Trip Report

Did Dans Rock first, then went to Pocahontas, PA and took Lohr Road 1.8 miles east to MacKensie Hollow Road,
then 0.1 mile north to go right onto Old Mount Savage Road (primitive dirt) which I drove 1.1 miles
to 2780 saddle on Little Savage Mountain (area heavily posted).
Hiked wet muddy woods roads to summit area of Big Savage Mountain, crossing Laurel Run on the way.
An open swath goes east-west just north of the state line. Crossed that at its crest and in the woods on the
other side (west side of summit area) found state line marker with {P, 1767, M, 1902} on its four sides.
Searched in vain for a tri-county marker on the east side of the summit area, but stood on countless rocks in
all 3 counties.
