Historical Notes: Caroline County was created in 1773 or 1774 and named after Lady Caroline Eden (Calvert), sister of Frederick, the sixth and last Lord Baltimore. She was also the wife of Sir Robert Eden, English Governor of Maryland. This county parallels Eden Street, and it is likely that Caroline Street, Baltimore, was named for this lady.

Description of HighPoint: HighPoint appears to be very slight rise South of 302 (Kanes Crossroads Road). This rise appears to be midway between Templeville Rd and Cleaves Forks. There is a benchmark (57) west of Cleaves Forks and South of 301 (Kanes Crossroads Road). The road is the county border, Caroline is South of the road and Queen Annes is North.
