Dorchester County Highpoint Trip Report

one area (60+ ft)

Glenn Bock questions the existence of a 60-foot contour on the Federalsburg quad, but my photocopy clearly shows the small contour adjacent to the east end of the longest chicken shed. Like Mike Schwartz, I walked across the field, which is apparently going to be left fallow this year. The ground at the east end of the shed was clearly 2 or 3 feet higher than the adjacent field, so it's not a depression contour that we're looking at. The high ground appears to be right up against the shed. Whether it's a natural surface or has been raised slightly during the construction of the shed is another question, one that I can't shed any light on.

The exhaust fans were running full blast on this warm day, and the odor added to the ambiance of this CoHP. I didn't have chicken for lunch.
