The Turtle Lake LO is located east of Turtle Lake on private land. The area is operated by the Turtle Lake Club at 5215 Turtle Lake Road. It is exclusive, open to members and their guests only. This is a hideaway for executives and CEO’s from the Detroit area who can be fanatic about their privacy. Do not trespass.

From MI65 junction with MI72, two miles North of Curran (the black bear capitol of Michigan), zero your odometer.

0.0   MI-65 at MI-72 – Go north on MI-65.

8.0   Flynn Valley Road – Turn right (north).
9.0   Doctors Club Road – Turn left (west). at the Alpena county line.

The Club entrance is to the right. There is a large silver gate electronically operated by a keypad. The Peak (Lookout) is about 2.5 miles to the northeast, as the crow flies. It’s closer to 4.5 miles through woods, open meadows and on roads both shown and not shown on the topo map. A GPS unit would probably be needed to find the Lookout Tower if permission were to be granted.

Coordinates are (44°53'10" N, 83°51'36" W) using the NAD83/WGS84 datum.
