Dickinson County High Point Trip Report

This is my first completely web-ized CHP. I saw the trip report (Roy Schweiker's) on cohp.org, realized it might be easy and near my route, printed the topo from Topozone.com, and then drove to it. Drive about 20 miles north of Iron Mountain, Michigan, to Sagola and then a half mile west on MI 69 to where the road reaches its obvious highest spotted. Turn left on the unsigned dirt track. The road is not very good, but is passable by passenger vehicles. You need drive only a half mile south (crossing two hills and wide clear cuts en route) to the parking loop at road's end. I found no sign of a lookout tower, but I did find the 1954 BM Sagola (amidst several witness posts). The forested high point offers no views.
