Due to some recent housing developments, it appears that Bill Schuler's directions to reach this high point can no longer be used. The good news is that there are some roads not listed on the topo map which will make this one relatively easy to reach.

I came in from the west on M-55, having just visited the Roscommon County high point. A little less than a mile from the county line is Richard Drive and I turned north and zeroed my odometer. This road is not listed on the topo map but is obvious on aerial photography and can be found on standard mapping websites.

The road bends to the northeast and then back to the northwest before making a sharp turn west at 0.7 mile. From this point onward, the road quality deteriorates rapidly and I would not suggest going any further than the northward bend at about 1.3 miles. I went a little further; almost to the county line. This was probably unwise, as I ended up having to back out on some very rough terrain.

The highest point is between the northward bend of Richard Drive and a trail along the county line. I had to be careful to get the right spot. There is another hill along the county line itself, southwest of the high point. Also, a ridge extends to the northeast from the high point but it is certainly lower in elevation. The high point is a cleared area but is not very impressive and there are certainly no views to speak of. There is what appears to be an old outhouse standing near the south end of the highest area; I did not investigate any further.

It's likely that the housing developments taking place between M-55 and Richard Drive have limited access to this area a bit but, for now, the high point itself is open for the taking.
