Ottawa County Highpoint Trip Report

From Route 37, about 3 miles south of Sparta, drive west on Ten Mile Road for
4.2 miles to the county line. Turn right and go north on Kenowa Avenue for 1
mile to Harding Street. Turn left and drive west on Harding for about 0.75 mile
to the Rasch residence (452 Harding). After finding no one home the first time
I visited, I eventually obtained permission from Chuck & Robin Rasch to explore
the contour in the middle of their orchard (and I sent them a map detailing my findings).
Once you’ve obtained their permission, park near their barn and hike south into
their orchard of apple and peach trees. I thought the highest ground within the
contour was in the 14th row east of a north-south access lane, and approximately
50 feet south of an east-west access road at the top of the hill.
