Clearwater County High Point Trip Report

Height of Land Lookout Tower BM (2,005 ft)

Date: May 29, 2002
Author: Dan Richardson

From Highway 113, turn onto the gravel road just off the east end of Elbow Lake and head north. Go for approximately 6 miles. If you get to Norris Road you've gone a mile too far. There will be a minimum-maintenance road heading in a south-southwesterly direction up the hill on the west side of the road. It's very rocky and fairly steep so it's really only accessible with a 4-wheel drive. The road makes its way up to the summit where the lookout tower is located. The BM is directly beneath the tower. There's no view from the summit and you can't even climb the tower because the first section of the ladder has been removed.
