From Pipestone, Minnesota take Highway 30 east toward Slayton. Around 10 miles is the border for Murray County. After about 1-2 miles, the highway ascends Buffalo Ridge. To the south (right) the highpoint is visible with a wooden buffalo silhouette about 15 feet high on top, which looks like a few trees from a distance. Just before the highway crests the ridge, turn right onto a gravel road. Follow this road for about a mile and turn left onto the first road, a gravel road that states "Road not maintained, travel at your own risk". Drive to the top of the ridge, about 3/4 mile, and park at the top. Cross under the fence, avoid the cattle, and approach the second fence around the highpoint and wooden buffalo silhouette. Cross over or under this and proceed about 50 feet to the highpoint, which has nice views in all directions. The fences were not posted, so I didn't knock at the farm below the highpoint. It is not visible from the parking area, but is just visible from the buffalo.
