Wilkin County High Point Trip Report

We visited this one is a raging blizzard and didn't hang around long. The wind was blowing with high velocity so we got plastered with snow pretty good on this one. Good thing the HP is just off the side of the road. A quickie.

From I-94, Exit 38, that mentions Rothsay, Minnesota, set the odometer. Immediately on the east side of the freeway is a road heading north/south. This road actually skirts the Ottertail/Wilkin County line and is marked CR11. Head north on CR11 and at mile 1.3 you'll pass through an intersection and at mile 1.8 a slight rise in the road is reached. Park here off the side of the road at a small pullout.

The land to your right/east is in Ottertail County while the land to your left is Wilkin. W e just got out of the vehicle and followed a fence line northward a bit on the Wilkin side of the road to claim the county. The land fades farther west of the road making this one a real easy one. Almost "martinizable" if it wasn't for the ditch that separates the road from the fence.

It was 2 minutes round-trip.
