McDonald County High Point Trip Report

For the first 2 areas get to the junction of MOKK and MOKK74, set the odometer and head east on a good
dirt road. Keep to the right at a junction 0.2 miles into it and also keep right at another junction reached at
0.4 mile. Basically always stay on the main track. There are numerous junctions along the way and the main
track is obvious. You will eventually reach an intersection with marked 90-77. Continue straight (east)
through the intersection and immediately afterwards pull off to the side of the road by a barbed-wire fence
with a makeshift gate, which is not posted. Make your way carefully through the gate and head in a
southeast direction to obvious highest spot in cleared little field.
It's about 100 - 150 yards from where you parked.
Get back in the car and keep on heading east on main track, curving here and there until pavement is reached
at a "T" intersection with paved FR1000 & FR2272. Turn right (south) and set the odometer again.
After going 0.9 mile, you'll come to a speed limit sign. Park right here by a driveway, of sorts. On the north side
of the driveway is a little bump immediately off the side of the road. This is the 2nd area. Across the street
is higher but it is in Barry County.
For the final 3 areas, somehow get to the junction of MO90 and MOE. For the 1st of the last 3 areas,
head south and go 1/2 mile until you reach a driveway on the right with a mailbox marked 1304C. Just pull into
the driveway a tiny bit and drag your foot. There is the first area. Now get back to the previously
mentioned intersection and this time head east. After 0.6 mile the road crests by a red gate on the left side of
the road. The road dissects the 2nd area of the 3. Get out and stomp both sides of the road. For the final of
the three, continue heading east for another 0.3 to an intersection of sorts and park on the side of the road.
The intersection crisscrosses the final small area and the HP seems to be in the yard of the trailer that is on the
northwest corner.
