Webster County High Point Trip Report

This is an easy one, on state park land.

Reach it from I-44 in Marshfield from exit 100. Go east on 38 for about 11.5 miles to paved C road, then south on C 4.0 miles to P. Continue 2 .0 miles south to where P curves east. Go up this paved road 0.7 mile to a spot where there is a turn-in on the left. Opposite, to the south, is an open field. We arrived at dusk. There were numerous horse buggies traveling in the area, with lights on. There is a sign for state of MO Conservation Dept. The woods behind the sign are rather flat.

Walk into the woods due north on a very faint path for about 100 yards and look around. We found 5 concrete footings just to the east of the path for what must have been an ancient tower, not even indicated on the topo. HP could be anywhere in there.
