Choctaw County High Point Trip Report

From the intersection of State Highways 407 and 411 in McCool, Mississippi go south on Highway 411 just
past the McCool Baptist Church. Continue 2.9 miles to the intersection with County Road 5233 (paved)
and turn left and then continue 1.2 miles to the intersection with County Road 5008 (dirt) and turn left again.
Continue on CR 5008 for 1.3 miles to an intersection stay right and continue for 0.8 mile to a turn
out along a power line cut on the west (right) side of the road and park here.
The highpoint is 0.64 mile straight line distance from the turn out. The route is unposted at the road but
crosses several postings on the way to the summit. I used a GPS to pick my way southwest through mostly
open woods until reaching some logging roads which took me to the summit. The summit area is a grass
and clover feed plot used for hunting.
