Hancock County High Point Trip Report

A most unusual high point! In northern-most Hancock Co., proceed N on Anner Rd. to the New Talavana
Community, a large remote Hare Krishna commune. These nice folks were quite interested (though
skeptical initially) in my pursuit, and allowed me to walk across their large Brahma pasture to
neighboring pinelands to the west. Two hundred feet into the woods I found an old logging road, dirt and
well-maintained now, a spur of which took me to a dangerous 30' abandoned well shaft, guarded by some
old barge (!) parts. Nearby is the highest discernible ground.
