Lafayette County High Point Trip Report

Thacker Mountain on Oxford South 7.5 minute USGS quadrangle (623 ft)

Date: June 13, 2001
Author: Paul Zukas

The USGS marker was apparently stolen from its location on one of the four fire tower concrete pads some time ago. The actual natural high point is adjacent to the fenced-in fire tower, and consists of exposed ledge, apparently shale or limestone.

Also known as Thackers Mountain (34 deg 19 min 41 sec N, 89 deg 34 min 46 sec W).
