From MT 38 southwest of Philipsburg took the turn off for East Fork Reservoir, then drove FR 5141 to its end at Trailhead # 3.

Hiked TR 24, then TR 110 to Carrp Lakes, where I picked up TR 111 going NW. At hp on trail (7880 feet), left trail and climbed up to point 8692 on the long north ridge of Warren Peak. Everything went well until I got just below 4th class rock on Warren. I bailed out by losing 1,000 feet down to Tamarack Lake in Glover Basin to the west. Very steep bouldering at top and talus at bottom. From Tamarack Lake, climbed boulder strewn couloir to a gap at 9300 feet in the southwest ridge of Warren. From there climbed Warren Peak (10,463 feet), the cohp. Warran BM (note spelling) and cairn, but no register.

Returned via Tamarack Lake and TR 4 out to TR 111. Can't count this as 5,000+ elevation gain peak as the best way in would involve only 4,500 feet.

Trip statistics: 12.75 hours, 17 miles, 5500 feet elevation gain.
