From Whitlash, I drove the dirt/gravel Strawberry, Miners Coulee and Coal Mine
Roads to base of West Butte. Climb involved steep grass, then steep cobble-sized
fractured volcanic rocks and wind blown evergreens and grass again at top.
Climb was 2.75 hours, 3 miles, 2,600 feet of elevation gain.
