Devils Lake Mtn (1,640+ ft)

From the intersection of US 2 and ND 1 just east of Lakota, drive west about 10 miles to the intersection with county 4. Turn left (south) on county 4 and take it about 9 miles (more or less; I didn't measure this) until you start to climb after crossing a narrow causeway between two parts of a lake. The hills on your left (east) will be Devils Lake Mountain.

I parked at a pullout on the west side of county 4 near the road crest and hiked east across a field that had no crops showing as yet. At the east side of the field, you'll need to negotiate a barbed wire fence and hike to the top of the hill. There are three or four summits that are all of about equal elevation. The topo shows the northernmost summit to be the highest but I stood on all of them just to be sure.
