Bob Packard's directions are accurate. My mileage numbers were different but the physical descriptions were perfect. Road in after the gate for the northern area is sandy but solid and has a high center in places. I parked at 1.4 miles at a single-wire "gate" that I could very easily have driven through if I wasn't paying attention. Hiked to HP, crossed bog and got wet up to my ankles.

On the return I went further west and avoided the truly wet stuff, only crossing a damp marsh. Depending on time of year, this area may be very wet, or dry.

Southern area went fast, quick and easy, too. Enjoyed "step-skiing" down the sandy slopes. Wildlife included cows, geese, cranes and all sorts of little birds.
