Mount Kearsarge

Date: September 2, 2005
Authors: John and Kathy Mitchler

From I-89, take the exit 9 (number not milepost) ramp to a stop sign. Go left on NH 103. There are no apparent signs for state parks. Proceed east on NH 103 for into Warner. At mile 1.3, turn left (north) at the flashing yellow light. Immediately encounter a "V" and stay left on Kearsarge Mountain Road. After 5 miles on this paved road, you'll reach Rollins State Park. The road narrows and at 9 miles you'll reach the gravel loop parking lot.

The main trailhead is in the center of the lot and there's an alternate trail at the far end of the lot. The trail is mostly rocky, with a nice bald rock summit with some towers and good views.
