Ocean County High Point Trip Report

1 area 1 3/4 miles northwest of Archers Corners (230+ ft)
From Exit 16 on I-195, go southwest on County 537. At 4.8 miles, go left on Millstream Rd.
Make left at 0.5 miles onto Tower Road, and go 0.7 miles to microwave tower access driveway.
Newly-built home next to tower sits on high point.
1 area 1 1/4 miles west of Archers Corners (230+ ft)
Retrace to Millstream Road and go left 0.7 miles to County 539. Go left 1.4 miles to left
at Hopkins Road, just before traffic light. Go left 0.8 miles to left at Laurel Drive.
Take Laurel for one short block to left at Hemlock Drive. Follow Hemlock to end of cul-de-sac.
Bushwhack up substantial hill, trending generally right toward highest point.
This area is very thickety, and would go best when underbrush is bare.
Laurel and Hemlock and the surrounding housing development do not show on the
"current" 1971 topo map.
3 areas 2 miles northeast of Archers Corners (230+ ft)
Retrace to County 539. Make a left and then another immediate left at the traffic light
on to County 528. Go 3.3 miles to left turn at North Stump Tavern Road.
This road deteriorates rapidly, but is passable to passenger cars if dry.
Park car where road crests after 0.6 miles, and follow ridge line to the northeast to find
the three highest knolls.
