Came into Luciano Mesa on the several miles of 'improved gravel road'
and looked about the more than 40 acres of HP area for the HP.
We felt that it was in the northern, northeastern part of the area.
On our way out we sought the other road that heads north to Montoya on I-40.
The turn-off is a little bit east of the HP - yes, you can open the barb wire fence gate.
When the road drops off the mesa top it follows a ledge down the Cap-Rock cliff,
at unimproved road quality. At one spot we had to stop and roll a few basketball
sized rocks off the road. Exciting after the dark of sunset.
It could be more enjoyable with a view.
