See Scott Surgent's report for best directions. We measured seven miles on CR BK to where it turns north through a gate that must be opened and closed. That stretch was bone dry, but the red dirt would get very sticky when wet. Once on the two-rut track that headed northwest into the summit contour, at least a high clearance vehicle at was very comforting. We felt that the northern area of the contour, and the area where the summit contour crossed the fence line into Guadalupe County were the two choices for highest ground.
